Halsey is no stranger to switching up her hairstyle. She’s rocked buzz cuts and hair down to her waist; curly and pin-straight styles; and colors including blonde, brunette, pink, green, and blue. So, what does the 24-year-old star do when she’s looking for her next big look? She turns to her fans, of course. On January 7, Halsey used Twitter to seek out the help of her followers, writing, “My brain arguing with me over whether I should grow my hair, cut it, or dye it a bright color.” That was quickly followed up with, “What’s the new wave. Slime green? Gerard Way red? Lilac?”

While many of Halsey’s followers chimed in with comments, she wanted to make sure the results were properly counted. So, Twitter poll it was, with three choices: lilac, red, and pink. With a whopping 60% of the votes, her fans spoke, and decided that lilac was the way to go. Red got 24%, and pink grabbed only 16% of the tally.

Though we hadn’t yet seen a photo of the singer, she confirmed on January 9 that she had, in fact, taken the poll to heart. Halsey tweeted, “my hair has been lilac since yesterday bc I am a strong independent woman who lets young people on the internet decide what she’s gonna look like via twitter poll.” HA. Here’s hoping we get that selfie snap soon!
